Home/Our Story
A quarter century of creating happiness
What began as one family-run residence in 1999 is now fourteen award-winning villages — each one built around a simple belief: later life should be the sweetest chapter.
Rooted in family, grown with love
Marigold Court was founded by the Alvarez family after their grandmother, Marigold, spent her final years in a residence that felt more like a waiting room than a home. They knew older adults deserved better — so they built it.
Twenty-five years later, every Marigold Court village still runs on her rules: learn every resident's name within a week, never let anyone dine alone unless they wish to, and celebrate something — anything — every single day.
- Family-run at heart — the founding family still walks every village, every month.
- Award-winning care — ten villages recognised by residents for exceptional service.
- 1,954 happy members — and a waiting list of families who heard about us from friends.
How we grew
1999 — The first house
Twelve residents, one big garden and a dining table that always had room for one more. The Marigold way of life begins in Santa Ana.
2012 — Care, perfected
Our 24/7 nursing programme and memory-care neighbourhoods launch, bringing specialist support to hundreds of families.
Today — 14 villages
From Annapolis to Willow Creek, 1,954 residents call Marigold Court home — and ten villages hold resident-voted awards.
More than a residence — a rhythm of good days
Mornings might start with sunrise yoga or coffee on the porch. Afternoons bring gardening club, the book circle, or a cooking class with our chefs. Evenings end with live music, a film, or simply good company in the lounge.
Restaurant dining, every day
Our chefs cook from scratch, three times a day, with menus dietitian-approved and resident-taste-tested. From Sunday roasts to birthday cakes, every meal is an occasion — and every preference, from low-sodium to purely vegetarian, is honoured.
